This project-based learning curriculum centers around the challenge of launching two-liter bottles over 100 feet high. Exploring rocketry in this fashion introduces Newton’s three laws of motion and applies trigonometry for measuring altitude with DIY clinometers. Teams use geometry in computer-aided design (CAD) and learn basic 3D-printing operation to make nose cones. This curriculum was designed as a 4-day STEAM camp provided by Talent Maker City with funding from the Southern Oregon Education Service District and Migrant Education.
