Bullying is a global problem that has been observed in every society across the world. Throughout our evolutionary past, such behavior resulted in some advantage, for example procuring resources or social status. As Minjin Rheu writes in Combatting School Bullying Using a Serious Game: Don’t Be A Bystander, bystanders must be taught and encouraged to intervene in order to increase the social costs of bullying, remove the prospect of gaining advantage, and change the peer norms of an educational setting. To aid in training and galvanizing bystanders, below is a proposal for a serious digital game where children can gain experience and view bullying narratives from different perspectives.
