Fewer and fewer problems today are solved by individuals, and knowing the community of your profession is crucial to bringing people together. This means understanding the full collective and individual potentials of social capital within a team, department, organization, etc., so that individuals can locate support and groups can act and solve problems more effectively.
Google Forms is an incredibly efficient tool for gathering such information and opinions that can reveal these potential resources. I designed a survey which looked specifically at technology integration practices within my school’s EFL department. While the survey was anonyous and perhaps not directly relevant to your occupation, I feel the resulting analysis illustrates just how helpful it can be to have such information.
